Implementation of the sustainable tourism strategy in the Carpathians

Brief description:
Following the successful adoption of the "Strategy for sustainable tourism development in the Carpathians" by Member States of the Carpathian Convention in 2014 (see project "Sustainable tourism in the Carpathians") this project will support the Carpathian countries in the implementation of this tourism strategy. The focus is, among others the specification of the established action plans of the strategy, the development of appropriate instruments to monitor the implementation, the design and establishment of a special coordination platform and the development of data bases on ongoing tourism projects, appropriate financing instruments and the collection of qualified guides and manuals as guidance for the implementation of the strategy.

This project is supported by the Federal Environment Agency on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety with funds from the Advisory Assistance Programme for environmental protection in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia and other countries neighboring the European Union (AAP). It is supervised by the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN).
